Ahh...Venizia

What a beauty!!! The pictures will never do justice. Venice is totally surrounded by water. Therefore the mode of transport is the vaporetto. Everybody walks kung nasa land. Naka-park ang mga personal boats nila sa tagiliran ng kanilang mga bahay. Otherwise the big boats or vaporettos ang kanilang public transport. A friend asked - does the river smell like Pasig River? Not at all - my reply. Wala ring lumulutang na basura. Their homes/buildings are aged but so well kept. It was like a trip back in time. It was just like living in the "before" ages with the amenities of the present age. Here are pictures of where we stayed.
The church was close by. Actually, marami silang simbahan considering ang liit na lugar ang Venice. The market was so accessible. Lahat ng klaseng fromage, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, gelato at mga fake Louis Vuitton bags are everywhere. Venice by night is just magnificent. It just comes alive with its lights and with the people. Lahat ng tao ay nasa kalye - just walking. The Gondolas are just what the pictures in the magazines portrayed. Venice - the land of Giorgio, Tommaso and Fabio; need I say fabulous (men)?

We're Missed!

... rather, the hotel concierge is missed. The boys are coming home since Monday is a holiday. We cooked their favorite comfort food - nilagang baka, callos, crispy pata and Black Forest Red Ribbon Cake. Tatay asked them to bring their dirty linens home so these can be washed by me. The house is semi-cleaned. The table is set. Of course, what ever is left of the food would have to be packed IN TWO SEPARATE BUT EQUAL CONTAINERS. They have got to bring home the food. They need the nourishment to sustain them while cultivating their minds ( talaga naman!!!!). I wrote about this before since a friend asked me why the never ending toil. My answer is simple. If the only fiber of dependence that connects me to my boys are to cook and do their laundry, then I am okay with that. Both of them are on their own now (kahit na kami pa rin ang nagbabayad). The need for me to be there with them is paminsan-minsan na lang. Kaya any chance for me to be missed and needed - I take it. The perks of course of not having the boys at home are great. The house is semi-clean and the laundry has its ending. We have those quiet weekends and I do not have to worry about planned meals. Pero, still, iba pa rin. Paano ba yon? One kind of misses the aggravation and the tribulations that go with raising children. Before I forget, kailangan din palang lagyan ng gasolina ang mga sasakyan nila. Kung hindi, hindi sila makakaalis. That would be a bigger problem to handle!
