F inals week for AJ is here. We have not seen him for weeks. He did attempt to come home for the lechon party but duty prevailed - down to his books he did go.
Jim and I made the trek to Columbia yesterday hoping to see him. The phone calls were not enough. We were kinda assured he was alright. What about his food, his dirty linens and his ( I am very sure) dishwasher packed with dirty plates?
The "nanay" instinct is kicking in again. He gave us specific instructions not to be distractions during exam week. We are not wanted during these horror days.
Nevertheless, the intentions were noble. We passed by the Pinoy food store for some chichiria - you know, the bad foods.
I gave him a buzz to inform him we were in Columbia - just passing (quieme). The reaction was expected. He was at the library and was very busy. Dinner perhaps? No, thank you. Chicharon? I'm okay, nanay.
We dropped the food at his condo. We left for home. A couple of miles away from Columbia, the cell phone rang - What time would we want to have dinner?
Jim and I turned around and made it back to Columbia for dinner with our son.
