In Remembrance...

I kept trying to delay and forego transferring Uncle Tony's pictures to my hard drive. I have all of the excuses. Maraming lilinisin, maraming lalabhan, I am just too tired. Well, the day of reckoning has arrived. I am posting some of the pictures here so the rest of the family is able to reminisce. Dios itti agngina kaddatayo amin. Dios itti kumuyog kenka Uncle. Dios itti agbati.

In his younger days....

The First Afternoon Of The Wake With The Family...

The Kitchen... Food was brought in by well meaning friends

The 2nd Day Of The Wake...

The Day To Say Goodbye...

The Reception After...

Uncle will have been proud of his sons. They held up so well under pressure. Auntie Flor was very calm. I probably was the only one who kept breaking down.
The Sison Family is a huge family. Unfortunately we get to see each other only during funerals. Malungkot diba? We only see each other to say goodbye.

UNCLE TONY

I've written about him several times. He was the only living sibling of my father. He was also a second father to many of us. He passed away last Thursday night. Like my father, he was never hard to please. His wants were very simple - all about Family. It is not very easy to write about someone you cherish in the past tense. I hate doing that. But for the sole purpose of posterity, I am writing this entry. Dios itti kumuyog kenka, Uncle.

Pasasalamat

Thanksgiving day was spent with friends and family. Our traditional dinner at the Mercado(s) was filled with laughter and the table was laden with food. The boys were home from school for the Thanksgiving break.
It is this time of the year that we just sit back, reflect at magpasalamat. We can have our ten million wishes unfulfilled but we can be thankful for what we have. Someone made a comment that we should not just say Thank You today. Saying thank you should be everyday - a good habit to cultivate.
